The instances of \framed are used for wrapping frames, margins and/or backgrounds around blocks of (short) text.
|\unframed||an instance with the frame turned off by default|
|\fitfieldframed||an instance suited for wrapping interactive form fields|
Note that \framed is not actually an instances of framed. It has its own historical (but compatible) definition.
