→‎Multitones: example update
=Multitones=
Hans wrote posted this example about spot and multitone colors on the mailinglist on 2004(2012-1205-27 about handling of multitone 07).The interface has slightly changed in comparison to older versions. It is important to define the colorants as spot colors:first (\definespotcolor).
Currently it's done by pdftools.rb

Once pdfxTeX becomes pdfeTeX out of a sudden your beta can do it as well.

I still need to figure out a way to automatically reverse the graphic, but one of these days you can start using it.

Actually, multitones for text already work out of the box:
<texcode>
\setupcolors[state=start] \definecolor [bluexcyan] [c=1,m=.38,y=0,k=.64]\definecolor [yellowxmagenta] [c=0,m=.28,y=1,k=.06] \definespotcolor definecolor [blue-100xyellow] [blue] [p=1]\definespotcolor [yellow-100] [yellow] [p=1] \definemultitonecolor [combicolor] [blue=.12,yellow=.28] [c=.1,m=.1,y=.3,k=.1]
\starttextdefinespotcolor [scyan] [xcyan] [p=1]\definespotcolor [smagenta][xmagenta][p=1]\definespotcolor [syellow] [xyellow] [p=1]
\startcolordefinemultitonecolor[bluescombi]\blackrule[widthxcyan=3cm.2,heightxmagenta=3cm.4,xyellow=.6][c=.2,m=.4,y=.6]\stopcolor
\startcolorstartTEXpage \hbox \bgroup \blackrule[yellowcolor=scyan, width=1cm,height=1cm,depth=0cm]% \blackrule[color=smagenta,width=3cm1cm,height=3cm1cm,depth=0cm]\stopcolor% \startcolorblackrule[combicolorcolor=syellow, width=1cm,height=1cm,depth=0cm]% \blackrule[color=scombi, width=3cm1cm,height=3cm1cm,depth=0cm]% \stopcoloregroup\stoptextstopTEXpage
</texcode>
(The CMYK color spec is the fall back color used on screen; one can preview separations in full Acrobat 7.)
