ctxtools is no longer part of TL and ConTeXt distr., it's not really important any longer since when synctex was supported
'''SyncTeX''' is a program that puts a lot of anchors in the output file that link to the corresponding position in the source file. This allows you to quickly jump from PDF to source.
== MkIV Usage ==
In MkIV (since I don't know when) you You can run context use the
--synctex jobname
switch to use enable SyncTeX.
== MkII ==So in MkIV you can runWith a ConTeXt version context --synctex jobname 2009.06.13 and in MkII you can runuse texexec --synctex jobname that This will create a file
jobname.synctex.gz
.The command ctxtools context --purge --all
or next run without --synctex will remove the file again.
This file can be used by your editor and PDF viewer to display jump back and forth between the proper filesource and the PDF.
