suggestion about the git mirror links on the front page
= General Wiki Comments =
== front page ==
i think one should tidy up the wiki front page. There are to many links and too many with unclear naming. May be less, more precise words in frames and some piktograms help.--[[User:Jstein|Jstein]] 00:23, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
Revision of ConTeXt User Manual appears twice. Thats a bit confusing.
== GIFs ==
Is it forbidden to upload GIFs? I wanted to upload one for the Animation page (I'm not sure if that's a good idea anyway; it would be used to get a feeling of what approximately Adobe Reader is capable to do/limited to). I get a warning <i>".gif" is not a recommended image file format.</i>, but then nothing happened any further. --Thanks, [[User:Mojca Miklavec|Mojca]]

== function show_command ==
it does '''still''' not work.
the fuction is defined as such:
<code><pre>function show_command(URL) {
open_window().location.href='http://texshow.contextgarden.net/cmd/' + URL;
}</pre></code>
and thus redirects to some url under http://texshow.contextgarden.net/
== GIFs ==no matter what that url is, the subdomain redirects to the page [[:Category:Commands]] (no, not [[:Category:Commands/URL]]!) please fix it.

:::: Let's try it. Good Idea. If it turns out wrong, we can still decide later. --[[User:Patrick Gundlach|pg]] 10:55, 5 Sep 2005 (UTC)
The live ConTeXt page is broken. Maybe the daemon just needs restarting? -- Tim 09.30, 26 Jan 2006 (UTC)--: No, I was just updating it. Should be fixed now. thanks for '''really''' like the new look of the report wiki! --[[User:Patrick GundlachBraslau|PatrickAlan]] Under Getting Started/Installation, it would seem more logical to point to [[ Installation ]] rather than to [[ ConTeXt Minimals ]]. -- Alan 12 Oct 2008
= General ConTeXt Questions =
This is not the place to ask general questions about ConTeXt. If you have a longer question, the best thing to do with it is create a new page (see [[Help:Editing]] for how to do that) with a description of the problem, and put the special text <code><nowiki>{{Howtohowto}}</nowiki></code> in it, which will cause it to be listed on the [[Category:How to]] page. If you have a short question that is appropriate for the [[FAQ]], you can add it there, and leave the answer blank. If you have a question that you wish to discuss, the best place for that is the [http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context ConTeXt mailing list] or the "Discussion" page associated with a particularly relevant Wiki page, though you can also use the [[Talk:FAQ|FAQ's "Talk" page]] if there's not an obvious choice.  == '''How to complete the configuration of Scite and ConTeXt In Windows7 so that I can Compile my context file(demoContext.tex)?:''' == After putting in the rigth places the '.properties' files provided by ConTeXt (context.properties..., scite-ctx.properties...), syntax highlitenning is working very well. But the commands " build" and "Process Tex file" in generate the  follwing errors in the output panel of Scite:  ''' >mtxrun.cmd --autogenerate --script context --autopdf --pdf demoContext.tex MTXrun |''' fileio: no cnf files found (TEXMFCNF may not be set/known)'''
MTXrun |''' unknown script 'context.lua' or 'mtx-context.lua'''''''
And the file is never processed{{howto}}[http://wiki.I try the checkout for the files contextcontextgarden.lua net/How_to_configure_Scite_and_Context Configuring Scite and mtx-context.lua and they are ConTeXt(I have some Compiling problem)]
of course in my context intallation.= Git Mirrors =
On I really think the other hand, I can successfully compile my file directly on section “Development/Source Code” should point to the (Windows-PowerShell)canonical git mirror first: http://git.contextgarden.net/public/projects.
command lineFor extra redundancy I also maintain an independent mirror on bitbucket: " texexec demoContex " https://bitbucket.org/phg/context-mirror/.It is updated hourly and not based on Marius’s old Perl script in anyway so if either mirror fails due to a bug, the other is likely to obtain continue.(It also pulls the code from the Garden mirror every day into aseparate branch for convenience.) Since the mirror bot has been running onmy server for over a nice pdf file!month now I made the repo public.
