 ConTeXt is a document engineering system based on [[TeX]].TeX is a typesetting system and a programming language totypeset and produce documents. ConTeXt is easy to use andenables you to make complex paper and electronic documents. This manual describes the capabilities of ConTeXt, theavailable commands and their functionality. ConTeXt is developed for practical applications: thetypesetting and production of documents ranging from simplestraight forward books up to very complex and advancedtechnical manuals and textbooks in a paper or an electronicversion. This introductory manual describes the ConTeXtfunctionality necessary to apply standard text elements in amanual or textbook. ConTeXt, however, is capable of muchmore and for users who want more there are other ConTeXtmanuals and sources available. ConTeXt has a multilingual interface to enable users towork with ConTeXt in their own language.
