you can easily upgrade the git Repository in your path by switching in it and run the following:

# cd /usr/local/portage/self/foo-golodhrim

# git pull

it will update your Clone of the Repository or inform you that you are up-to-date.

for upgrading the conTeXt distribution I included a script called '''ctx-update''' that does everything for you.
