= Getting access to the system fonts =
LuaTeX can use non-TeX fonts (in OpenType, TrueType or Type1 format) directly.  Mac OS users should note that many of their system fonts come packaged in the .dfont format. This format is Mac-specific and isn't recognized by LuaTeX ; but the free software [http://fondu.sourceforge.net/#Fondu fondu] program can be used to convert dfont fonts to TrueType.
