Inside the definition of an abbreviation, you may set marks(see <tt>:h m</tt>), which allows you to jump between the differentparts of a snippet with CTRL-O and CTRL-I (in Normal mode) when the abbreviation is expanded(see <tt>:h jump-motions</tt>).
