The straightforward way to to install ConTeXt on MacOSX at the moment is via the * [http://www.tug.org/mactex distribution. The distribution includes TeXShop, / Download and many many other goodies. Here is follow the project homepage:instructions] (if you have a broad bandwith internet connection)* You can also [[http://www.tug.org/mactextexlive/acquire.html buy a TeXlive DVD]] (if you are a member of a TeX user group you often get it for free),* or download and install a TeXlive image from the web.
It should work out of ==gwTeX / i-Installer==Before MacTeX, the box, also best way to use ConTeXt on Intel-based Mac. If you have an older ancient installation, you should replace the teTeX-based variant with TeXLive-based one:
* uninstall both <i>"gwTeX Support: ConTeXt updater"</i> (<code>context-update.ii2</code>) and <i>"DEPRECATED gwTeX based on teTeX"</i> (<code>tex.ii2</code>)
* install <b>"gwTeX based on TeXLive"</b> (<code>texlive.ii2</code>) and <i>"ConTeXt updater"</i> again

* [[iTeXMac]], a more fully featured, but sometimes more complex, TeX editor and PDF viewer
* [http://www.ing.unipi.it/~d9615/homepage/texniscope.html TeXniscope] is an interesting, auto-updating PDF- and DVI viewer, especially helpful when you're updating documents from the command line or otherwise outside of the above-mentioned integrated editor/viewers.
