If you are new to ConTeXt and have a specific question, please ask it on the mailing list (ntg-context@ntg.nl) instead of writing a one-line question here. Is ConTeXt free (open source) software?

Does context support unicode, I cant display vietnamese in context output DVI?

* Yes. It supports Unicode (utf-8) input. See Vietnamese. The process it describes does not do unicode-encoded output, so viewing the DVI stream won't do much good. With a properly-configured setup, the DVI viewer should get the right glyphs, but I haven't experimented with that configuration. I suggest sending mail to the mailing list.    --Adam

* Oh thanks for telling me that Mr.Adam, and I would like to ask you some more questions. I am  a chemistry specialist, and I really want to use  PPCHtex macro package for displaying chemical formulas. But the problem is I could not install context properly on my system, even I have read  the construction in Pragma installation manual.Do people have any easier ways to install context in correct way? I love  using context when I read the manual, but it is not easy to operate the whole system of Tex. Hopefully  the developers will make a  procedure which users can manage the system successfully.

Thanks so much and looking forward to  know your answer----hoangoclan

* Again, I refer you to the mailing list for usage specifics, if you can't find it here. As for installation, there is a lot of information in this wiki. I suggest typing 'Installation' into the search box at the left! You haven't given enough details about your system for me to offer anything further than that. Please, this is not the right place for these sorts of questions. --Adam

Discussion of the FAQ

If you are new to ConTeXt and have a specific question, please ask it on the mailing list (ntg-context@ntg.nl) instead of writing a one-line question here. I know that the wiki is a bit more convenient, but you are far more likely to get a usable answer via the mailing list. The FAQ should be more general than "Is there something like contributed package <X> in latex?". So let us keep the faq for truly Frequently Asked Questions. Thanks, Taco 12:48, 18 May 2008 (CEST)
