new publication
Henning Hraban Ramm: I'm a self-employed typesetter (media designer), printing engineer and programmer, living in Freiburg, Germany.
I use ConTeXt for some automated tasks (like simple business cards and DVD covers of backups) and sometimes for books (see [http://verlag.unitarier.de/?menu=0-2-2 Verlag Deutsche Unitarier], publishing house of the German Unitarian fellowship).“My” latest publication is a book of elves tales: [http://www.maple-tree.de/epages/es395355.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es395355/Products/NW-001 Nebenwelt]
I (try used to) maintain the [[LilyPond]] module, a bridge between ConTeXt (MkIV) and [http://www.lilypond.org GNU LilyPond], the latter being the best music typesetting (“engraving”) system since manual engraving. As a collector and singer of folk songs I use the ConTeXt-LilyPond team to produce beautiful songbooklets for my friends.
My “paper brain” (planner, address book, songbook) is also typeset with ConTeXt. I keep my addresses in a MySQL database and use a Python script to write ConTeXt code. Another Python script calculates my calendar (including moon phases), reads some lists of holiday, birthday and appointment data and writes TeX code again. The songbook is made of ConTeXt component files with LilyPond scores. ConTeXt's imposing feature let me collect several planner pages on one A4 sheet. The remaining nasty work is cutting the printed paper. One time I should write a report about all that (but I'm always planning a lot)...
