You can use all of PlainTeX math and most of AMSmath in ConTeXt; for the latter If you may need the '''nath''' module want to get more from your code than just a PDF (see on [ftp://danteor DVI) output, e.ctang.org/tex-archive/macros/context/contrib/maths/t-nath.tex CTAN])HTML, or if you need a good typesetting machine for your XML code, you're right with ConTeXt.
The "native" Handling XML in ConTeXt way has improved dramatically with the advent of math is MathML - rather verbose but mightyMkIV. A new infrastructure, based on Lua, makes typesetting, manipulating, filtering, reusing XML much much easier than before. Here's Unfortunately, this means that most of the docs:* [http://wwwexisting documentation is now obsolete.pragma-ade.com/general/manuals/mmlprime.pdf MathML (general)] by Pragma* [httpAs a rule of thumb://www.pragma-ade.com/general/manuals/mmlexamp.pdf MathML in ConTeXt (examples)] by Pragma* [http://www.pragma-ade.com/general/manuals/xchemml-p.pdf ChemML (MathML extension for chemistry)] ([http://www.pragma, the "old" MkII code uses upper-ade.com/general/manuals/xchemml-s.pdf screen]) by Pragma* [http://www.pragma-ade.com/general/manuals/xphysml-p.pdf PhysML (MathML extension for physics)] ([http://www.pragma-ade.com/general/manuals/xphysml-s.pdf screen]) by Pragma* [http://www.pragma-ade.com/general/manuals/xsteps-p.pdf Steps (case <tt>XML step charts)] ([http:<//www.pragmatt> in its commands, the new MkIV code uses lower-ade.comcase <tt>xml</general/manuals/xsteps-s.pdf screen]) by Pragma* [http://homepage.mactt>.com/atl/tex/EulerContext.pdf Euler in \ConTeXt (using Euler math font)] by Adam Lindsay
