Fetch Norbert Preining has produced reliable, complete ConTeXt packages for Debian, and they use very recent versions of ConTeXt (as of this writing, which is 2007.01.05, the latest package has the current distro from Pragma ADE:[[http://www2007.01.02 version of ConTeXt).pragma-ade Here's how to use them.com Add these two lines to your /contextetc/currentapt/cont-tmfsources.zip cont-tmf.zip]]list :
I would advise installing deb <nowiki>http://www.tug.org/texlive/Debian/</nowiki> context in ~/texmf (~ refers to the current user home directory), rather than as the system default for every user on the machine. Once you're happy that it works for you, you could install it system deb-wide (TODOsrc <nowiki>http: need to give those instructions for Debian//www.tug..).org/texlive/Debian/</nowiki> context/

If you have already followed the following steps (because you've already upgraded your apt-get update apt-get install context context installation relative to the default <tt>tetex</tt>-provided nonfree context), then you are mostly done; just go to the [[Debian installation#Finished!]] section to check the installation. -doc-nonfree
